Floods and Holidays

To start with I'll show you some photos of our flooding that we had a while back when SE QLD got that torrential down pour. Ningi actually got 412 mm in a 24 hour period !!!!!!! We had about 2 - 3 inches downstairs in the hall!!! It seeped through half the office carpet, so we had smelly carpet for a few days but I consider ourselves quite fortunate when you see the others on the news whose houses were completely under!

The front side garden
The other side front.
Looking towards the backyard, it's hard to tell but it was a raging river down here! Dave is way over his ankles in this pic and that was a little shallow up that end!

Looking from the back towards the front.

This is where it was all coming from.........and to the left slightly is the back door and it went through that way too!

Queens Birthday Weekend we went and stayed at The Marriott Hotel in Brisbane for 2 nights! It felt a little strange having/asking people to do things for you but we soon got used to it! LOL! We got a great deal and will definitely be staying there again!

Saturday the girls and I went to the Scrapbooking Expo at the Convention center while Dave went to the Caravan & Camping show at the show grounds. We discovered the Lifeline bookfest was on also so the girls and I went on an Enid Blyton book hunt and came away with about 40 odd books plus about 6 board games. Then we realised we had to catch the train to the showgrounds fully loaded!!! It was ok, Dave met us at the show but had parked the car about 2klms away! So I bought a little trolley to carry around our purchases!

This is us Saturday night having a Seafood Buffet in the Marriott Restaurant.

Sunday we went to SouthBank for a looksee, this is us outside Buddah's temple.....

Then we all went on the Brisbane Wheel......

We had an excellent weekend, was nice to spend time together as a family.

Little Ella had her first dancing concert at St Michaels fete a couple of weeks ago. This is her with her costume and the hair do that mummy spent ages on. She did a dance to Mama Mia and she was very good!!!! We have it all on video, no photo's as I wanted to enjoy it.

Thanks for popping by, leave me a comment so I know that someone out there reads this thing!

Just wanted to leave a comment to let you know that I read it. LOL
It was funny looking at your Brissie pics as I was just up there with my boyfriend in April and we have similar ones of the temple and wheel.
