I remember the day when we brought Maggie home from the Kilsyth Animal Shelter, 3 weeks after we moved into our new home in 1996. Dave always said "we're never getting a cat!" then one day we went looking......she actually hissed at me through the cage when we chose her!Driving back through Mt. Evelyn we named her Maggie...she was our first "kid" and I actually trained her to sit and fetch! This is her as a kitten.
She had been losing weight so I took her to the vets and they did all sorts of blood tests which turned up nothing, just keep an eye on her. We went to Fraser Island for a week and Mum was looking after her....she wasn't getting any better. I told her to make an appointment for me as soon as possible when we get back. The day after we returned I took her to a different vets where he confirmed what I had suspected.......CANCER.
Maggie passed away in her favourite spot in the garden this afternoon, you will forever be in our hearts and memories.
